candle care

THE FIRST BURN IS THE MOST IMPORTANT
Upon first light, burn your candle until the melt pool reaches all sides of the jar, or up to four hours. Wax has memory, so you want to burn your candle til the liquid wax touches the edge of your jar.

TRIM YOUR WICK TO 1/4" BETWEEN BURNINGS
This is so important! Trimming your wick before using will reduce flame size and soot. If a candle's flame burns too high, it can cause the glass to reach unsafe temperatures.

REUSE + RECYCLE YOUR JAR
To clean out your vessel boil water then pour in to the vessel, which will liquify the wax and make it melt + solidify on top. Wash the vessel with warm soapy water and turn it in to something purposeful:
plant or propagate plants
collect moon water
storage for spices/simple syrups/pantry goods
found trinkets, bits & bobs

BE SAFE
Don't leave your candle unattended and keep a safe distance away from pets + small hands.

a short note:
frosting is *beautiful* and a natural process with any soy wax candle!
Our soy wax is made from Midwestern grown soy beans, and frosting usually occurs with temperature fluctuations. Frosting is completely normal and will not affect the scent throw or burn of your candle.
